Me, myself and I

AVTOR: ALEKSANDRA BISINOVA BREZEVA
Hello, I am Aleksandra and I have been an English teacher for the past 12 years. I was introduced to English when I was 10 years old and was immediately fascinated by it. Every textbook, grammar book or dictionary I could get my hands on, I would instantly devour. It came as no surprise that I enrolled at the English language and literature department at university, without a second thought.
I am a Macedonian, who speaks and teaches English while living in Slovenia. I have been travelling a lot through Europe, with a few extensive periods of time spent in the USA (hence my American accent?). So, you can easily say that thanks to the English language, I was able to get out of my homeland and explore the world (a lot more left, I know ?).

Love of my life

I chose English as a language because I am constantly amazed by it, its grammar, its vocabulary old and new, how it evolves and changes. Since first hearing the Alphabet song, I knew that a career involving the English language is waiting for me, and teaching it is the best way I’ve found to keep myself in a long-term love affair with the language and to spread my passion to as many people as possible.

Too much of a good thing, eh, Shakespeare?

Modern readers often call Shakespeare a visionary, far ahead of his time. Let me give you an example: he was able to write about desiring too much of a good thing 400 years before Nutella was widely available.
Why then, can one desire too much of a good thing? — Come, sister, you shall be the priest and marry us.—Give me your hand, Orlando.—What do you say, sister?” — Rosalind (As you like it, Act IV, scene I, 1599)
