Learning is most effective when the student is having fun. My lessons on ‘conversational Slovene’ with LanguageSitter™ were a lot of fun from the very first moment. Instead of being stuck in a regular classroom, my ‘classroom’ became coffee cafes, the streets, bridges, bank machines, stores, parks, bars, and the banks of the Ljubljanica. The philosophy of LanguageSitter™ is exactly right: people learn a language best in the places where they will be using it.

Having an extraordinarily gifted teacher made a huge difference. I can think of no better way of teaching a language. I looked forward to every lesson and prepared for them. Slovene is a difficult language to learn but my enthusiasm for doing this is unbounded thanks to my first course. Being able to navigate stores without being silent and ordering meals and drinks in Slovene was such a thrill, even empowering. When I do return to Slovenia, the first thing I will do is to set up another course with LanguageSitter™. These lessons were the most enjoyable ones I have had.
